Accreditation, Authorization and Affiliation
Statement on Accreditation
Asia Theological Association (ATA): Teleo University is an Associate Member with ATA and is currently pursuing accreditation for our core programs. Asia Theological Association has 361 member institutions in 33 nations in Asia and beyond. ATA is a member of the CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG) and the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education (ICETE), a global network of nine regional associations of theological schools concerned for the enhancement of evangelical theological education worldwide.
Affiliate Status Statement: Teleo University is an affiliate member of the Association for Biblical Higher Education. As such, it participates in and contributes to collegial and professional development activities of the Association. Affiliate status does not, however, constitute, imply, or presume ABHE accredited status at present or in the future.
In November 2019 Teleo University was granted applicant status with the Association for Biblical Higher Education Commission on Accreditation (COA) on the basis that it evidences satisfaction of ABHE’s Conditions of Eligibility and possesses such qualities as might provide a basis for achieving candidate status within a maximum of five years. The institution remained in good standing with the ABHE Commission on Accreditation. However, Teleo University's board suspended the accreditation process and moved to an Affiliate membership status during the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. ABHE is the International Council for Evangelical Education (ICETE) member for accrediting theological institutions in North America. However, because of Teleo University's international focus, the board chose to pursue accreditation through ICETE associations in regions of the world where our distance education students live, beginning with the Asia Theological Association.
